Three ways in. One ledger.

Record however suits the moment — it all lands in the same place.

Speak it

Open the app, press once, say “பஸ் இருநூறு”. Amounts spoken as Tamil words are understood, not just digits.

WhatsApp it

Send a voice note to Kanakku Pillai on WhatsApp. It replies with what it heard and waits for your yes.

Photograph it

Snap the bill. The total is read off the receipt and shown to you before anything is saved.

On WhatsApp

The app you already have open.

Most people will not open a finance app at the shop counter. They will open WhatsApp — so Kanakku Pillai lives there too.

  • Voice note → transcribed → shown to you → saved on your yes
  • Ask “என் இருப்பு எவ்வளவு?” and get a straight answer
  • Ask for your transactions and get a spreadsheet back
  • Nothing is ever saved without your confirmation

Your money. Nobody else's business.

Encrypted per person

Each user's data is sealed with a key of their own. A database copy on its own reveals nothing.

Admins cannot read it

There is no “log in as user”. The lockout is enforced in the code and tested on every build — not promised in a policy page.

Honest history

Entries are never quietly edited. A correction is a reversal, so what happened stays visible — the way real books work.

Think in your language. Spend in your language.

தமிழ்பஸ் 200
සිංහලබස් 200
Englishbus 200

Mix them freely — “டீ fifty” and “tea 50 ரூபாய்” both work.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. Recording by voice, by text and on WhatsApp is free, and no card is needed to start.

Does it really understand Tamil?

Tamil first. It reads amounts spoken as words — “ஆயிரத்து ஐந்நூறு” is 1,500 — as well as digits, and handles several expenses in one sentence.

What if it hears me wrong?

You see what it understood before anything is saved. Nothing is recorded until you say yes.

Is this proper accounting?

Yes — every entry is a balanced double-entry journal, the method an accountant would recognise. You can view the ledger at any time and export it as a spreadsheet.

Who can see my transactions?

Only you. Data is encrypted with a per-user key, and administrators have no path to it.

Start with one expense.

Say what you spent. That is the whole first step.
